MP3 Valdemar is a member of our well known family of Head and Torso Simulators (HATS).
MP3 Valdemar is primarily used as demonstrator, trying to draw attention to the fact that many people is subjected to high sound pressure levels, eg from industrial noise, Personal Music Players / MP3-players. Hopefully MP3 Valdemar can help convince people that they should take care of their hearing.
MP3 Valdemar is travelling around to school's, gymnasiums/high schools and have been a part of marketing for attracting new students to studies at Aalborg University.
MP3 Valdemar is equipped with a slightly modified IEC-coupler, which feed's analog microphone signal to a small Linux Based computer inside his body. The computer calculates the corresponding timeaveraged Leq according to ISO11904 and uses a LED-meter on the front to display the calculated level.
