Laser equipment to align setups

We have different lasers available for levelling and/or positioning equipment in lab.setups. It have proven to be a easy way to setup and place equipment (eg. microphones) in exact same position when doing repeated measurements. At the moment we're using slightly modified (can use external power) Laserpointers (approx. 8 x 50mm) like the ones shown below.

Often it's nice to have a visible line instead of a small round 3-5mm dot do align your setup/equipment. For that purpose you can use Stanley CL-E. This is af self levelling cross-line laser level.

PLEASE NOTE:

Since it's laser there's a small risk when using this equipment, so there's a few things to observe before use.

ALLWAYS place warning signs on doors to the room where lasers is used - click on warning to the left if you need extra copies.

DO NOT stare into the laserbeam, make sure lasers is not set at eye level. Eye protection is normally afforded by aversion responses such as the blink reflex.

DO NOT direct laserbeam against other persons.

DO NOT look into the beam with optical aids (eg magnifiers, binoculars) or use lasers in combination with other optical instruments, since this can lead to unforeseen laser output.

We have experienced that also the reflections of the beam in a few cases can lead to physical discomfort (headache or your eyes being light sensitive) - if you have these symptoms then turn of the lasers and/or leave the room.

All lasers are either class III (less than 5mW output) or class II (less than 3mW output), and under normal conditions there's no risk in using them in your setup.
