Measurement microphones
In our facilities we have a variety of different microphone-types. The different types can be divided into three groups namely pressure, random/diffuse field (pf, ra) calibrated and free field (ff.) individually calibrated microphones. Further it is so that some microphones require 200V dc polarisation, and other absolutely not.
Hint: check specifications/manual before connecting equipment - thank you.
Hint II:"When selecting microphones it is important to first understand the measurement requirement and how this imposes demands on the performance of the microphone" (B&K SV)
Measurement Microphones available in lab.facilities
- B&K 4133 1/2" ff. - general purpose ~12.5mV/Pa

- B&K 4193 - infrasound measurements
- B&K 8104 - microphones/hydrophones
- Sennheiser KE4-211-2 - used for in-ear and other measurements/recordings
- Knowles FG23329 - used for in-ear measurements/recordings
and of course we also have a number of microphones aimed for recording use - please take a look at studiomicrophones
If you're looking for more background information on measurement microphones you can find some information in B&K microphone handbook [] or eventually in some of the technical notes & handbooks available
