Anechoic Room - large

This room is constructed as a "box in box". Both constructed from concrete, and the inner box is placed on 4 large rubber-suspension feets, which together with the construction minimizes influence on low-level measurements from noise caused by vibrations/noise from  eg. bypassing cars/busses.

Probably one of the QUIETEST places in Northern Europe - less than -4dBA

Inside measures of inner concrete box is approx. 8.6 by 7.4 meters and height about 8.2meter. The corresponding measures between tip of wedges is 6.2 by 4.9 meters and height 5.8meter.

Acoustical background noise specifications for the room with ventilation and lights turned on is well below hearing threshold in ISO226

Drawings/sketches of the room can be found below, and there's also a copy of the commisioning report from 1987 available (contact akutek).

A number of different electrical connections to controlroom makes is possible to create setups with a minimum of hardware placed inside the room during measurements. Like other special rooms there is intercom and optional videosurveillance available.
