Virtual Reality Room

This virtual reality room was designed with 3D sound in mind. The laboratory is quite spacious (7.0 x 8.12 x 3m - app. 56 m2) with heavily damped walls and ceiling but with a wooden floor which optionally can be covered by a carpet.

The room is well insulated from outside noise, and although the room has windows these windows have been specially designed to be very sound insulating towards the outside.

The room is equipped with a tracking system: A magnetic field transmitter is positioned in the ceiling; when a person is wearing a small receiver--on for instance a set of headphones--it is possible to monitor both the exact position and rotation of the person's head.

In order not to disturb the magnetic field, the room itself consists of sparse amounts of metal. The room can be accessed via controlrooms.

It's possible to create complete darkness (special curtains installed), so that you can "blind" you subjects.

Since the room is quite spacious you also have the posibility to use projectors if you want to evaluate eg. different aspects of interactions between audio and video. For this purpose we also have large projection screens available to create a better visual impression.
