Anechoic Room - small

This room is also constructed as a "box in box". Outer box (building) is concrete and inside a box build by customdesigned standard "noise-silencer-modules". This innerbox is placed on rubber-suspensions.

This room is designed & constructed so that its possible to create both simulationsetups and also setups with loudspeakers in freefield conditions down to about 200 Hz. To meet the requirements for anechoic performance (see ISO 3745 for qualification requirements) in the specified area between 200Hz and 10kHz, the inside walls is covered with soundabsorbing wedges of about 0.4m length.

Due to this demands it ended up with a room with a height 4.0m and 4.5m times 5.0m as the two other dimensions. All three dimensions is the distance between tip of the wedges in the room. This size of room makes it possible to create setups with loudspeakers with a minimum of 1.5m between listener and soundsources. 1.5m distance is a requirement, due to the knowledge of changes in HRTF's for shorter distances between listener and loudspeaker.

Drawings/sketches of the room can be found below, and there's also a copy of the commisioning report from 2001 (internal)

A number of different electrical connections to controlroom makes is possible to create setups with a minimum of hardware placed inside the room during measurements. Like other special rooms there is intercom and optional videosurveillance available.
